In November 2019, Dr. Wilson spent two weeks working in the Four Corners area of Northeastern Arizona
on the Navajo Reservation. While there, he encountered the Little Baby Shelby, a stray dog who, unfortunately, was in the process of starving and freezing to death in the bitterly cold weather that is present at elevation. Dr. Wilson fed the Little Baby Shelby for two weeks, but was not planning on taking her home. However, upon completion of his last shift at 7 pm on a Friday, Dr. Wilson, while relaxing in his quarters, came to the conclusion that when he left the following morning to return to Phoenix, if he left the Little Baby Shelby behind, then undoubtedly, she would succumb to starvation and exposure to the elements. The Little Baby Shelby gladly accepted transport out of her dire circumstances and immediately accepted a position as office dog at Maxwell Medical Group. The Little Baby Shelby is beloved by all.
